L&R Enefer

Wilton Farm has long been a livestock and arable based farm, but in 2003 the sucklier herd was sold and at this point we decided to start our own herd of pedigree limousins ‘Enefest Limousin’. We purchased one heifer and hired in a bull and now we have 60 head of cattle.

All Summer the cattle enjoy being out, grazing and in Winter they come in and feed on home grown silage, barley and locally sourced soya free nuts. Off setting carbon locally and sustainably.

As well as the cows, we also keep a few pigs who go crazy for the waste product from the cheese making process, the whey which we feed them alongside home grown rolled barley. The pigs are Large Whites x Pietrain, which give a nice even fat coverage on the meat.
